Newman's Own Situational Analysis

 

As part of a 6-person team, I helped create a situation analysis for Newman's Own salad dressing. Our goal was to help move the other two teams closer to finding the consumer profile and consumer journey.

 

In our 1-hour presentation, we briefed the other two teams on product quality of Newman's Own, industry trends, and major competitors. This was supplemented with more in-depth information in our 24-page book.

 

Newman's Own's major strength is that it donates 100% of its profits to charity. When Paul Newman started making salad dressing with his friends, he was already a successful actor. He didn't need the extra money, so he gave it to people that would really benefit from it. Newman's Own has given all of their profits to charity since 1982.

 

My personal role in this project was researching and writing for the Industry Trends section. I walked the other teams through this section as well as the Recommendations section in our presentation.
